La
Jolla Aerial Photography
“Everyone knows that La Jolla is one
of the most beautiful sites in the southern California area, but
what most people do not see is how much more beautiful it is when
viewed from above. From this aerial view we can really appreciate
the assimilation into nature of a built environment and community."

In this aerial
photo of La Jolla, an area of great natural beauty with a mixture
of geology, I capture the most compelling highlights of the area.
Bordering Windansea to the south and extending north to Torrey Pines,
both La Jolla itself and my aerial recreation of La Jolla encompasses
the natural and man-made features; the oceanfront where residents
and visitors experience the alternating rugged and sandy coastline,
the surf, the wild sea lion and docile seal congregations, and the
neighborhoods of Bird Rock, Windansea, The Village of La Jolla,
"downtown,” and La Jolla Shores. Through my completely
distinct aerial photographic perspective, I want you to revisit
the fact that the world we are tightly packed into is beautiful
and vast. And yet, we might also find ourselves approaching the
image with wide eyes, looking for ourselves on a walk or paddling
out.
